So, that's how she does it.
As an experienced mother, I was determined to let my fourth baby learn how to do things on her own. This is what I found the other day in the living room...
Carter was bribing her to move with Cheerios. Needless to say, she has now figured out how to move wherever she wants.
So much for mother's wisdom.

I wonder
Tyler is working on a project at school that requires him to come up with a question and then research the answer. His question was: "I wonder why passengers on school buses don't wear seat belts." He tried to find a book at the library but didn't have much luck. We Googled the question and came up with some great information. But the best teaching we received was when we took a field trip to the Northshore District Bus Barn and talked to Tracy. It was very informative. Tyler got some great new learning and I came away feeling better about putting my kids on a school bus everyday.

DestiNation ImagiNation
Carter and Tyler had their DI competition today. They both did great. They are in a non-competitive bracket which means that they could not win anything. They will start competing in third grade so Carter is really excited about participating next year.
At the end of the day, Tyler came to me and said that he wished DI could last until the end of the school year and he couldn't wait until next year. I am glad that they are finding success in their activities.

Carter as a writer
I was at the elementary school getting ready to watch the boys dress rehersals for the DI competition when the principal approached me. I put on my best smile and expected the worst. She came up and said, "Did you see the story that Carter published in the 'Husky Gazette'?" I told her I hadn't. She said, "It was great. I was very impressed. I meant to call you about it."
Of course, I became curious. I had seen something in the parent newsletter about the Husky Gazette coming home but I never look at it as my kids have never been "published" before. I asked Carter's teacher for a copy and I, too, was very impressed with his improvement in writing this year. I am so proud of him.

My Place
Carter Eden
I have a wonderful forest near my house. It's beautiful there in many ways. Pine trees hold a scent so strong. All the leaves show bright colors like yellow, red, brown, orange and more. Frogs ribbit in the forest and birds sing happy songs. Every time I enter, I build a habitat and think, "This is my world."
